Harga Kamera Canon EOS 50D - Kira-kira tepat setahun setelah merilis Canon EOS 40D yang kini sudah diskontinyu tepatnya pada Agustus 2008, Canon mengumumkan kamera penerusnya yaitu Canon EOS 50D. EOS 50D bukan kamera pengganti EOS 40D, karena pada dasarnya EOS 50D merupakan body kamera EOS 40D yang membungkus sensor 15 megapixel yang baru dikembangkan dan akhirnya meluruskan kondisi dimana rentang XXD Canon sangat tertinggal di jalur entry-level terutama dalam hal besaran pixel yang diusungnya. Dengan dikembangkannya 50D, Canon mengklaim bahwa desain sensor baru termasuk di dalamnya proses manufaktur baru, desain ulang dioda foto baru dan lensa mikro mengindikasikan bahwa meskipun resolusi gambar tinggi namun tingkat noise juga telah mampu di kurangi dengan signifikan.
Di samping perubahan besar di atas, terdapat juga perubahan lain yang dalam hal ini merupakan perubahan baru yang dijejalkan ke dalam EOS 50D antara lain layar LCD dengan resolusi tinggi. Dengan 920.000 dot memberikan arti bahwa EOS 50D mampu memberikan 640x480 pixel RGB, sehingga menjadikan monitor efektis standar VGA. Terdapat tiga lapisan anti-refleksi yang didesain untuk layar agar menghasilkan gambar yang bagus dalam berbagai kondisi pencahayaan. Berbagai fitur menarik juga ditambahkan kedalam kamera ini hal yang sangat penting dapat dilihat dari adanya prosesor gambar Canon DIGIC 4. Secara desain yang nampak sangat jelas sebagai perubahan sekaligus pembeda yang ada pada EOS 50D dan EOS 40D adalah logo atau lencana bertuliskan EOS 50D di bagian sebelah kiri atas lensa, dan bahkan jika dilihat secara rinci di bagian depan body kamera selain tulisan EOS 50D hampir tak dapat dibedakan. Sebagai pembeda yang lain adalah di bagian atas kamera tombol yang ada pada 50D sekarang berwarna silver dan bukan abu-abu seperti pada 40D, selain itu juga terdapat fitur baru sebagai pembeda yaitu mode Creative Auto (CA).
